Study: NFL Did Not Follow Own Polices on Violence

A study by the University of Arkansas found that the NFL did not follow its own policies in punishing players who committed violent acts.

The study, which was published in the Journal of Sport and Social Issues, looked at a time period from 2010 to 2019. The findings reveal that players who committed “general violence” — that is, violence not specific to women — received, on average, less than a third of the minimum requirement for number of games suspended, according to league policy.
