USA Gymnastics has been named in a lawsuit that targets Boerne Gymnsatics, its owner and a former coach, all of whom the plaintiffs allege enabled the former coach to sexually abuse athletes at the gym for decades.

Former Boerne coach Michael Spiller is currently serving a 10 year sentence after pleading guilty to exposing himself to young girls.

According to KENS 5, the new lawsuit comes after two minors claim Spiller molested them while they trained at a Boerne Gymnastics two years ago when they were just 9 and 10 years of age.

The lawsuit also claims Boerne Gymnastics owner Lorna Spellman “fostered a culture that permitted this behavior to persist for literal decades.”

Attorney Michelle Simpson Tuegel, who represents the minors in the lawsuit said in a statement: "The safety of young athletes should be paramount, and it is vital that sufficient steps are taken to ensure no child ever again suffers the kind of abuse experienced by these survivors and any other survivors who have not yet come forward.”
