If any Texas Rangers fans are hoping to pour their hearts out to the stadium bartender, they might get a more robotic response than they’re used to.
That’s because the newest addition to the food and beverage staff at Globe Life Field, ADAM, isn’t a human bartender at all. He is a humanoid robot. This robot is mixing up cocktails and mocktails for fans all while dressed up in a Ranger’s jersey.
According to The Deccan Herald, “ADAM uses both its arms to deal with complex recipes easily, and thus ensures a smooth and speedy service. The company has claimed that the robot makes perfect drinks each time. It also reduces overpouring, cuts down waste, and optimizes costs by replacing labor.”
So far, ADAM has served more than 500 drinks just outside of section 111. His multi-jointed long arms can pour drinks, shake cocktail shakers and present fans with a branded Rangers cup. ADAM is made with advanced AI technologies, so he will constantly adapt to his surroundings. He can even recommend different drinks. This advanced robot was made by Richtech Robotics.
While some facility owners debate how to best integrate AI into the fan experience or day-to-day operations of a stadium, Globe Life Field has jumped into the deep end of AI with both feet. They say that integrating ADAM into their staff frees up the human workers to focus more on the fans than smaller tasks.
“We’re always looking for different ways to highlight stuff out here and bring special experiences to the ballpark,” said Greg Mass at Globe Life Field in an interview with FOX 4 DFW. “It’s all about the experience. We watch people out here, filming it, smiling ear to ear. The kids love it.”
