This week the University of Michigan announced a new media partnership between the athletics department and Beasley Media Group Detroit. This partnership includes a multi-year broadcast agreement that will begin when the Wolverines kick off the 2025 football season.

According to Go Blue News, the deal with Beasley Media Group will primarily focus on radio broadcasting of Michigan’s football, men’s basketball and ice hockey games. The radio will also broadcast certain women’s basketball games.

However, the deal goes beyond simple sports broadcasting. On top of listening to the Wolverines compete on 105.1 The Bounce, fans can also catch exclusive interviews, athletic features and “content that goes beyond traditional play-by-play.”

Michigan Sports Properties will oversee the partnership between Beasley Media Group and University of Michigan athletics as the official multimedia rights holder.

Vice president of operations for Beasley Media Group, Kevin Rich, told Go Blue News, “When it comes to college athletics, no brand is bigger and no fan base is more passionate than the University of Michigan. We're thrilled to partner with the University and Michigan Sports Properties to bring top-tier programming and play-by-play coverage to fans across Southeast Michigan. Go Blue!"

The team at Michigan is equally excited. Executive senior associate athletic director and chief of staff Doug Gnodtke said the new partnership is an “exciting chapter” for the Wolverines. Gnodtke is excited to see the partnership with Beasley Media Group “strengthen our connection with fans and alumni in metro Detroit and across the state of Michigan.”

Beasley Media Group’s 105.1 The Bounce is already known for covering local sports along with music and entertainment, so Wolverine fans and alumni can expect a deepening of coverage from the station.

"Michigan Athletics has a long and storied tradition, just like WCSX, a heritage station with deep roots across Southeastern Michigan," said Patti Taylor, vice president and market manager of Beasley Media Group Detroit. "We're proud to unite these two legacies and continue delivering Michigan Athletics to passionate fans across the region on our platforms."
