Bowling Green High School head football coach Josh Wade has been suspended from "football activities" for this week.
According to a message sent to parents by superintendent Ted Hasselman which was obtained by WTVG , Wade exhibited behavior recently that dose not "align with the high standards of our district."
Hasselman didn't go into detail about what prompted the suspension, citing "confidentiality concerns." The statement did say that none of Wade's players were ever in any danger.
""Some recent actions of our head coach, Coach Wade, have been brought to our attention that do not align with the high standards of our district," Hasselman wrotre. "The behavior goes against our internal policy."
Hasselman said the district hopes the incident serves as a learning experience for those involved.
Wade has been the BGHS Head Football Coach for three years. He is also a history teacher at the high school, and he will continue to teach through the suspension.
Wade will not coach the Bobcats during their away game against Central Catholic, the No. 1-ranked team in Ohio, on Friday. Bowling Green will enter playoffs against the undefeated Fighting Irish with a 5-5 record.
