Texas A&M announced plans this week to combine the school's men's and women's swimming and diving programs.
After the retirement of women's swimming and diving head coach Steve Bultman, Texas A&M director of athletics Trev Alberts said the school made a decision to create a new position that will lead both men's and women's programs moving forward.
A national search for a director of Texas A&M Swimming & Diving has begun as the department continues its work with search firm TurnkeyZRG.
The local CBS affiliate noted that Alberts could hire from within. Jay Holmes, A&M head coach of men’s swimming and diving, joined the staff at Texas A&M in 1987, taking over as head coach of the men’s program in 2004.
