The parks and recreation department in Mountain Home, Ark., announced this week that it has received more than 1,000 applications as officials seek to staff the city's forthcoming rec center.
According to KTLO, the Mountain Home Recreation Center, scheduled to open in late May on the west end of Mountain Home, will have a staff of around 75 full and part time employees working in different capacities.
Daniel Baxley, who serves as the Director for Mountain Home Parks and Recreation, says his department has been able to pick choice candidates from such a large pool of applicants.
The amount of lifeguards needed to cover the six new pools will be four times the guards that were needed at Cooper Park.
Other positions will include 4 full time and 4 part time front desk positions, 5 full time and 3 part time custodians will be charged with keeping the 110,000-square-foot facility clean. Additional ground maintenance are also being hired.
Baxley says all the final pieces to getting the center opened in the coming weeks are falling into place.
