New Handbook Helps California PE Teachers Meet Guidelines

A new handbook helps California teachers teach P.E. in accordance with state guidelines.

Gope 1108 Ab California, a state with more than 6.2 million public school students, adopted physical education instructional standards in 2005. But implementation was left to the discretion of individual teachers, some of whom didn't even know how to teach the proper techniques of jumping rope. So, in September, the California Department of Education unveiled a 328-page handbook to help teachers in kindergarten through high school teach P.E. in accordance with state guidelines.
