Wolverines' Aircraft Grounded by Gusting Winds

Wednesday afternoon, the University of Michigan men’s basketball team was loaded and ready to leave for the Big Ten tournament in Washington, D.C., when gusting winds forced the aircraft carrying the team off the runway.

Southeast Michigan was experiencing high sustained winds most of the afternoon on Wednesday, with gusts reaching speeds of 50 mph. According to DTE Energy, nearly 500,000 customers in the area lost power.
