The University of Illinois announced it received a $350,000 gift to support the construction of the Susan and Clint Atkins Baseball Training Center. The $8 million, 26,000-square-foot facility will include training and support space. The training space will encompass an entire baseball infield, with ceiling netting for hitting and pitching practice. The project is slated for completion in Spring of 2022. — FightingIllini.com

Mira Costa (Calif.) High School unveiled a $39 million athletics complex. The gym has seating for 2,500, and provides two weight training areas, a wrestling room, classrooms, offices, athletic training areas and a Hall of Fame. The University of Idaho’s Idaho Central Credit Union Arena is nearing completion. The $51 million facility, 67,000-square-foot facility will host the school’s basketball programs and campus events. Construction is expected to be completed this fall. — UIArgonaut.com
