A 17-year-old girl is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a Birmingham rec center.
The unnamed girl was taken to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries after gunfire erupted Tuesday night at the Inglenook Recreation Center.
According to a report from AL.com, the girl was struck in the head by a bullet as she was leaving the scene. Police said a female suspect is in custody but she has not been charged with a crime.
The incident happened after dozens of people congregated outside the rec center as two women began arguing about a man.
The teenager who was shot was not part of the dispute.
