No peanuts, no Cracker Jacks. That’s the sacrilegious edict at Dunkin’ Donuts Park, home of the Hartford (Conn.) Yard Goats, a Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
According to the Richmond Times Dispatch, the franchise announced back in February that it would be banning all nut products from its stadium in an attempt to create a safe environment for fans with peanut allergies.

The Dispatch notes that the Yard Goats are the first professional sports franchise to ban peanut products.
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, in the past have had peanut-free games to accommodate those with peanut allergies, but the club says they have no plans for a full-time ban on peanut products.
Todd Parnell, the Flying Squirrels’ vice president and COO, said that while some fans appreciated the peanut-free games, he also heard from a number of fans who wanted to purchase peanut products during those times.
“You try to be everything to everybody as much as you can, but there are some situations where that can’t always be the case,” said Parnell. “We’re very sensitive to both sides of the equation. I think we’ve done a pretty decent job
