Juvenile Stabbed Outside Arena After Fight Spills Into Parking Lot

A North Carolina man has been charged with allegedly stabbing a juvenile outside a sports arena in Wendell. 

According to WRAL News, Octavio Escalera-Rodriguez, 28, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is being held on $25,000 bond. 

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Gooch Sports Arena after a fight broke out inside the arena. The fight spilled out into the parking lot where the stabbing took place. 

Deputies immediately took the suspect into custody and the juvenile was transported to the hospital with severe injuries. 

An investigation into the incident is underway, and the juvenile remains in the hospital.
