Suspect Arrested, Coach Fired After Shooting at HS Athletic Complex

A suspect has been arrested and a high school coach has been fired following a shooting at a Texas high school athletic complex. 

According to Fox 4, the shooting took place around 1:30 on Wednesday at Greenville High School's John Mason Field and Roy "Q" Taylor Athletic Complex. 

Tekeysha Letoya McCloud, 44, is now in custody after her she shot her ex-husband, a former assistant football coach at the school. 

Greenville ISD's superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez said in a statement posted online that the McCloud's husband is "now a former employee of the district." 

"The district shall not tolerate any issues between adults that may cause a safety concern for other employees or students," Lopez said. 

McCloud has now been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carry of a weapon in a prohibited space. 

No students or staff were hurt in the shooting, and all practices and workouts had ended about an hour before the incident. 

McCloud was eventually taken into custody late Tuesday evening by district police in the Dallas area. She was then transferred to the Hunt County jail.

McCloud remains in jail with a $105,000 bond.
