A 43-year-old man from Star, Idaho, was shot and killed Tuesday by police at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex in Boise.
According to KTVB, police were dispatched to the complex around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a police shooting. The suspect, identified as Lucas Alleman, died at the scene from his injuries after being shot in the neck and torso by Ada County deputies.
ACSO said deputies were searching for a suspect involved in a felony sex crime and found him at the complex. When deputies approached Alleman, he did not listen to their commands and pulled a gun. The deputies shot him around 5:45 p.m.
A spokesperson said there were "activities at the other side of the park. However, the incident was isolated and away from them."
"Its definitely an uneasy feeling," said Ashley Gallagos, a neighbor who lives nearby. "Especially because I grew up here and not used to being around that."
The Ada County Sheriff's Office said the deputies began life-saving measures, but the suspect died at the scene. No deputies were injured.
Both deputies are on leave until an investigation into the shooting can be completed.
