Gator fans will be the first in the nation to see facial recognition technology at entry points to collegiate sporting events.

According to WCJB Express Entry lanes will available at Gates 1, 4, 7, 8, 12, and 16 for home Gator football games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and other select University of Florida Athletics venues.

Fans who have linked their Ticketmaster accounts and completed registration will enter a designated lane, scan their face and head straight inside.

Express Entry is powered by Wicket. The program is opt-in for fans 18 and older with a valid Ticketmaster account.

Officials say Wicket encrypts fans’ personal information and stores it safely. The system was tested during two football games in 2024, and officials said it significantly reduced wait times.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to improve the game-day experience,” said Scott Stricklin, athletic director for the University of Florida Athletic Association. “With Express Entry, we’re giving fans a faster, streamlined way to get into the stadium so they can spend less time in line and more time cheering on the Gators.”
