A driver in Ohio is facing charges for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after crashing into a Planet Fitness in Warren.
According to WKBN, the incident took placed just before 10 p.m. Monday. The car drove into the Planet Fitness.
The driver, identified as Matthew Gilmore, experienced what investigators believed to be a drug overdose, causing the vehicle to drive over a curb and hit the wall of Planet Fitness. The vehicle then continued through the wall and into the business, hitting pieces of gym equipment.
Both Gilmore and a passenger were treated with naloxone, an opioid-reversal drug, and were later taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
WKBN reported that Gilmore refused to submit a blood test and was charged with OVI and reasonable control.
A warrant has been issued for Gilmore’s arrest through Warren Municipal Court.
