As spectators and athletes left a New Orleans, La., gymnasium at the conclusion of a youth recreational basketball game, a fight broke out between two adult men.
According to Fox 8 Live, spectators were leaving Lee Road Junior High School on Feb. 5, when one man was “struck multiple times in the face.”
The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, but by the time police arrived at the school, the other man had fled. He was identified by others at the scene as Kameron Hossley, and he later turned himself in to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff.
Hossley is facing charges of second-degree battery.
The sheriff’s office released a statement saying youth sports events should be safe, family-friendly places. “Violence will not be tolerated,” it said.
While the investigation is ongoing, it is not clear what caused the altercation between the two spectators.
