A security guard was injured Wednesday night after a car crashed into the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Ore.
Police said the driver, who has not been identified, sideswiped another car on Southwest Salmon Street, veering into a planter box at the Multnomah Athletic Club entrance turnaround.
A club security guard on the sidewalk was hurt in his lower left leg, police said, but medical staff judged that his injury was not serious enough to be entered into the regional trauma system.
There building itself did not appear to be damaged aside from some dented metal stairs.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. PPB concluded there was no impairment and no crimes were committed, though it had been "definitely a close call."
