Authorities are investigating after a 51-year-old man reportedly jumped to his death Monday morning at the University of Florida's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

According to WCJB, authorities were trying to talk the man down before jumped from the top of the Swamp into the interior of the football stadium concourse.

Authorities on the scene attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at 10:05 a.m. ET by the Alachua County Fire Rescue.

Officials said they believe that the man was homeless, and they do not believe any members of the public were at the stadium at the time of the suicide.

The University of Florida Police Department believes this was an isolated incident and confirmed that the man was not associated with the university.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities aren't releasing the man's identity until his next of kin has been notified.
