Anxiety Hampering Americans’ Fitness Goals

While Americans may need more exercise, they apparently have some anxieties to circumvent before they can get their bodies moving.

According to the New York Post, which reported on a survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Isopure, Americans are extremely intimidated by going to the gym.

Fully 50 percent of respondents to the survey felt that the idea of working out amount other people in a gym environment is a daunting prospect, and 31 percent are just generally anxious about even thinking about getting fit.

In fact, the range of choice is also off-putting for many, with 48 percent of respondents noting that they are intimidated by the sheer number of fitness workouts and classes out there.

Even those who are working out say they’re discouraged with their results. Two in five of those who are already working out said they feel like they’ve reached a physical plateau.
