Fergus Falls Aquatic Center

Fergus Falls, Minn.
Construction Cost: $10.8 million
Area / Square Feet: 30,000
Occupancy Date: May 2025

Fergus Falls rallied to pass a local option sales tax, making possible a vibrant new outdoor aquatics center at the heart of Roosevelt Community Park. Responding to an increasing need for accessible aquatics amenities, the city partnered with JLG Architects to design a safe and inclusive destination for residents of all ages. The outcome combines a dynamic array of features, including a zero-depth-entry pool with interactive children’s play elements, a climbable structure, two waterslides, a dedicated four-lane lap pool and a climbing wall for fitness enthusiasts. The facility is anchored by a thoughtfully designed, durable bathhouse that offers modern locker and changing rooms, lifeguard and staff spaces, pool equipment storage and concessions. Emerging from the mature park landscape, the aquatics center integrates shading structures and generous deck areas, ensuring comfort and usability throughout the summer. This welcoming, multigenerational hub not only elevates recreation in Fergus Falls but also stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to health, connection and quality of life.
