The University of Notre Dame released renderings of the Irish Indoor Athletics Center, which is slated for completion in July 2019. Both the football and soccer programs will use the 111,400-square-foot facility, which will also host campus community events, camps, rec and club sports, pep rallies and more. The facility will relieve some of the demand on the Loftus Sports Center, which currently serves as a practice/competition space for many of the school’s sports. — diehards.com

San Diego State University revealed more details of plans for a proposed 35,000-seat football stadium. Athletic director John David Wicker said that the facility could expand into a 55,000-seat venue capable of hosting an NFL franchise should a team ever return to San Diego. The stadium’s interior would feature more than 82 suites, five club sections, 50 loge boxes, end zone party decks and six exterior balconies. —PanStadia
The Cleveland Browns have begun discussions about possibly renovating or building an entirely new stadium facility. Talks are in early stages, but owner Dee Haslam said that the team has spoken to city officials and other civic leaders, and received good feedback. Conscious of the way sports can help provide economic development, the team is working with Cleveland State University to study how development could impact the local economy. — ESPN.com
The Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears teamed up with other community partners to pay for the new $20 million Pullman Community Center on the city’s Far South Side. Scheduled to open this fall, the 135,000-square-foot facility will feature indoor playing surfaces for football, baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball, as well as space for community events and classrooms. The center will be co-owned by the Chicago Park District and the Roseland Youth Center. — Chicago Tribune
