Appalachian State University received approval for new facilities projects from the University of North Carolina Board of Governors. Among the planned improvements is a new end zone facility at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The project will accommodate athletics and academic functions, including space for athletic training, hydrotherapy, locker rooms, conferences, medical offices, coaches offices, a dining facility, a team store and a ticketing office. A new campus master plan released by Purdue University details major changes coming to West Lafayette — including some important changes to the school’s athletics facilities. The blog Hammer and Rails took a deep dive, finding that Ross-Ade Stadium will likely get a new south end zone facility, track and field will receive a new facility, and Lambert Fieldhouse and Rankin Track will be demolished. — HammerandRails.com

In a letter from the athletic director, Georgia State University announced that it had accepted a bid to begin construction on phase two of its football operations center. Construction is slated to begin on the project later in October, and will include coaches offices, team meeting spaces, a weight training room and equipment space. — GeorgiaStateSports.com
Montana State University received an anonymous $2 million gift to support athletics facilities at the school. The gift will support the first phase of an athletics master plan that the school announced last year. The first phase calls for a 37,000-square-foot facility called the Bobcat Athletic Complex, which will house the football program, and the Academic Excellence Center, which will be used by student-athletes. — Bozeman Daily Chronicle
