In Honolulu, the opening of the Alexander Waterhouse Sports Performance Facility will offer University of Hawaii student-athletes an enhanced training experience as they set the foundations for their pursuits with the Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warrior programs.
Originally constructed in 1994 along with SimpliFi Arena in which it is housed, the Waterhouse facility underwent a $3.3 million renovation over the past year and now features 24 Samson Power Racks and a new nutrition center within the 10,000-square-foot training area available to the department's 500 student-athletes representing 21 sports programs.
The Alexander Waterhouse Sports Performance Facility includes:
- Nutrition station
- 24 Samson multi-station power racks with cable columns and tracking systems
- 24 inlaid platforms for each station
- Three Pit Shark squat racks
- Custom UH bumper plates and dumbbells
- Four offices for strength staff

- FC Dallas and the City of Mansfield, Texas, have announced a partnership to build a multi-use soccer stadium and complex in Mansfield. The multipurpose stadium is expected to open by 2026.
- In New York, Schenectady County lawmakers have approved $5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding toward the construction of an arena and events center at Mohawk Harbor. It’s the latest infusion of public funding the estimated $50 million project. Construction on the facility is expected to begin in the spring.
- A high school in Hamilton, Ohio, is planning to break ground next month on a new stadium. Badin High School has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony March 5 for the Lanni Family Stadium at Matandy SportsPlex. Phase I of construction will include the two fields (play and practice full synthetic fields), track around the field, locker rooms, restrooms, concession stand, press box and home bleachers.
