The $60 million plan to revamp Albertsons Stadium at Boise State University is coming into view.

Boise State is looking to start construction on a project to replace several long-standing temporary seating structures in the north end zone.

The project will add new premium seating and make a series of upgrades under the new stadium structure.

It will also build a new concourse that will connect the east and west sides of the stadium on the north end zone.

The project will decrease the stadium’s overall capacity and be built to keep the view corridor from the stadium to the foothills open — and keep the view from the Bleymaier football complex to the stadium unobstructed.

A video showing rendering views of the proposed Arizona Coyotes multipurpose entertainment district was posted to the team's social media Thursday night.

The proposed arena would have 17,000 fixed seats for NHL games and capacity for roughly 1,500 additional temporary seats for non-hockey events.

The Coyotes new home would also include a 150,000-square-foot practice facility and headquarters, a live music theater for 3,000 concertgoers, 400,000 square feet of retail and a multipurpose watch party plaza equipped with a supersized screen for viewing events.

Ensuring comfort for Coyotes fans, the main entertainment district would be fully covered by a 170,000-square-foot roof canopy extending from the arena to the theater.

The Coyotes development plans also include approximately 1,900 luxury residential units, 400,000 square feet of class-A office space, branded retail, dining, bars, farmer’s market, dog park, multiple parking structures and other gathering spaces, all with easy access to major thoroughfares along the desirable Phoenix-Scottsdale border.

According to the Coyotes website, it has been projected that more than 3 million annual visitors will visit the district. The district is also expected to generate $581 million in new tax revenue for Phoenix and $232 million to Maricopa County. It will create 10,800 new jobs in Phoenix and 16,700 jobs throughout Maricopa County.

  • A charter school in Allentown, Penn., held a ribbon-cutting event Thursday for the new fieldhouse.

The $7 million fieldhouse in front of the school on Union Boulevard is 28,000 square feet in size and large enough to hold four basketball games at the same time. The school’s boys and girls basketball teams will still play their home games at a 16,000 square-foot, 1,600-seat gym across the parking lot, but the new facility will be used for gym classes and other school and community events.
