Notre Dame Unveils $100M Football Facilities
Notre Dame‘s “long-awaited football facility upgrades” were officially unveiled Friday with the opening of the Jack and Kathy Shields Family Hall.
The “state-of-the-art facility cost upwards of” $100M and includes “an advanced training room; a stand-alone sports medicine facility; an equipment facility with body scanning and fabrication technology; a new and expanded locker room; meeting rooms, including a two-level, all-team auditorium and an augmented reality walkthrough room; media innovation spaces, including recording studios and photo studios; academic support spaces; and a new player nutrition area.”
The project, which was announced a little over two years ago, “totals more than 150,000 square feet,” which is “nearly double in size to the team’s previous football facilities”
Salado High School Prepares to Open New Football Stadium
A new era of Salado athletics is set to begin this fall.
When the Eagles take the field on Aug. 28 to open the 2026 football season against Troy, they'll make history as the first team to play inside Salado High School's brand-new stadium.
The new facility seats more than 5,700 fans and is the centerpiece of a new athletic complex that includes a state-of-the-art weight room, locker rooms, meeting spaces, coaches' offices and a sports medicine and rehabilitation area.
Broncos Hire Architect for New Stadium
The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs stadiums will be designed by the same Kansas City-based firm that drew up the blueprints for their rivals in Las Vegas.
Team president Damani Leech confirmed Saturday that the club is working with Manica Architecture as the lead designer of its new retractable-roof stadium at Burnham Yard, and with Denver’s own Tryba Architects as the designer for the surrounding stadium district.
It’s the biggest hire of the project so far — and while the 2031 opening remains the target, Leech revealed some of the team’s struggles in working with the community as quickly as they would like.
“Understanding what this team means to its great fans in Denver and across Broncos Country, Manica is honored to be chosen as the lead design architect of the Broncos’ new retractable-roof stadium,” firm founder David Manica said in a statement. “We are committed to delivering a world-class fan experience at the center of the enhancements the Broncos will be adding to the local neighborhoods.”
