Construction is underway on two football stadiums within the Washington County (Tenn.) School district, with both projects on schedule for completion next school year.

The changes are coming to the home side of the stadiums at Daniel Boone High School and David Crockett High School. Both schools are receiving new bleachers, concession stands and restrooms for the home side.

Friday, workers installed the foundation for the bleachers and concession stands at Daniel Boone High School, even while it was sprinkling.

“They’re in a good spot,” said school superintendent Jerry Boyd. “Days like today, with potential rain, they’re trying to get as much done right now as they can today just to make good progress.” [WJHL]

As the sun sets on another successful baseball regular season, the brightness of a new dawn is about to shine on Crutcher Scott Field.

Even as the team  heads to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, Abilene Christian University will be diving into the first phase of a series of renovations at Crutcher Scott Field to improve the Wildcats' baseball facilities.

"ACU baseball is well on its way to becoming the premier faith-based college program in the country," said Dr. Phil Schubert, ACU president. "An improved Crutcher Scott Field will enhance our student-athlete experience, help attract increasingly talented athletes and non-conference opponents, and create a better fan experience. I'm excited about the potential for this upgraded venue to build community on campus and quicken ACU's path to a Division I regional and the College World Series." [ACU Sports]

Norman Public Schools released their plans for the new Norman North High School football stadium on Friday.

The stadium will seat up to 6,000 people—5,500 seats on the home side and another 500 available to visitors.

Voters approved the new stadium as part of a 2023 bond project. The upgrades also include track improvements, and the total cost of the project will be more than $24 million.

Construction will be in August 2024, and is expected to be completed in August 2025. [KFOR]
