That's the case at the University of Cincinnati, where a $134 million state-of-the-art athletic complex is slated to open June 11 to help the Bearcats attract top-tier talent in the coming years.
"If you look at it through the eyes of prospective student athletes who go visit these established historic programs with facilities built decades ago, renovated multiple times over, and expanded, you'll see that UC, frankly, was not on a level playing field, " said John Daniel, senior deputy athletic director and chief operating officer for the University of Cincinnati Athletics. "Now you can step into this facility and think we can go toe-to-toe with them."

Siouxland Sports Academy Partnering With Developers on New Sports Complex
Siouxland Sports Academy has partnered with a developer who wants to build a $5 million, 65,000 sq ft multi-sport complex next to Lewis and Clark Park, in Sioux City.
Details of the project are contained in documents the city council will use to decide whether to accept the proposal of Siouxland Developers, L.L.C., to buy land at 3400 Line Drive.
As of now, documents show the 2.3 acres of land targeted for development serves as a parking lot at Lewis and Clark Park.
Documents say the proposed facility will include five basketball courts, which can also be used as nine volleyball courts, a batting cage, state-of-the-art weight room, dance academy, upscale concessions area, locker rooms, offices and outdoor patio seating.

The Athletics’ eventual move to the Sin City will take another step closer to reality later this month when they break ground on the $1.75 billion stadium in Las Vegas.
The nomadic baseball team is planning on a groundbreaking ceremony on June 23 at 8 a.m., the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Monday night.
Construction on the Athletics’ future home began back in late April, and the ceremony later this month will serve as a celebration for the organization and local officials.
