118-Acre Farm and Forge Youth Sports Complex Opens in Nashville
Farm and Forge fills a notable void in College Grove, Tennessee, an area lacking high-level athletic training facilities according to founder Kenny Brody. The 118-acre complex, designed by Northworks and built by J.E. Dunn, represents a significant private investment in youth sports infrastructure south of Nashville.
Kenny Brody, the co-founder of $8.2 billion hedge fund firm Taconic Capital Advisors with Wall Street experience, credits organized sports with shaping his foundation during childhood. This personal connection drives his dual mission of serving both elite athletes and less privileged children through the same facility.
Frontier Community College Breaks Ground on New Athletic Facility
Frontier Community College is pleased to announce a groundbreaking ceremony for its new athletic facility, scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place between Mason Hall and Bob Boyles Hall, and the public is invited to attend.
The new facility marks a significant investment in the future of FCC athletics and the local community. At its meeting on August 19th held at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, the Illinois Eastern Community College Board of Trustees approved a $5,651,000 bid from Bevis Construction, Inc. to oversee the project.
Construction is expected to begin this fall. During this period, Frontier Drive may be temporarily inaccessible due to construction activity, and occasional traffic delays should be anticipated.
Apollo Indoor Athletic Complex Designs Take Shape
The designs for the new Apollo Indoor Athletic Complex are starting to take shape.
Principal Justin Skaalerud and JLG Architects' Ryan Rademacher presented the first concept of the multipurpose athletic complex to the school board last week.
The building will be designed to serve both the school district and the greater St. Cloud community. It is anchored by a full-size indoor turf field house. The turf field will be used for a wide range of sports, including soccer, football, softball, and lacrosse.
Above the main field, a mezzanine level will have dedicated space for multisport training, batting cages, golf simulators, and other amenities. The space will allow multiple teams and programs to use the facility at the same time.
