Washington D.C. Reopens Ford Dupont Ice Arena Following $40M Renovation
The long-awaited reopening of the Fort Dupont Ice Arena is set for this weekend.
Mayor Muriel Bowser, alongside other city officials, will hold a ribbon-cutting at the facility Saturday, unveiling the nearly $40 million renovation project.
“This is a lot of love, a lot of passion, a lot of commitment. There are not a lot of ice rinks in the area, so for D.C. to have its footprint back, that’s huge and we’re really proud of it,” said Thennie Freeman, Director of D.C.’s Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).
