Private Training for Transgender Community at Q Fitness and Wellness Center

Q Fitness and Wellness Center is an LGBTQ-focused gym that provides a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to workout, feel welcomed and escape judgment. The gym in Charlotte, N.C., just celebrated Pride 2024

At Q Fitness and Wellness Center, gymgoers can choose from open gym times, private training and group exercise classes. The gym even goes beyond those basics and offers nutrition information, local medical resources and counseling.

Owner Crem Morris-Frazier told WBTV 3 that at other gyms, the LGBTQ+ community might feel like, “they couldn’t show up exactly how they felt and how they wanted to be able to represent, and they just didn’t feel quite like home.”

Morris-Frazier has 20 years of experience as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. She operated other studios in California and Oregon before returning to her hometown to create Q Fitness and Wellness Center. The gym now has 60 regular members and 40 virtual clients. 

Her unique value add to specifically transgender gymgoers is private coaching that will target muscles important for their transitioning bodies. One member described the first time they met Morris-Frazier, saying, “She could see my anatomy with clothes on and everything. She was like ‘you are misaligned here.’ ‘You need to do this.’ We just worked together and rebuilt my body.” 

The gym is also looking forward to its ‘Q Fitness and Wellness 5K’ coming up in October. The run/walk will support two Charlotte charities and celebrate inclusivity and wellness in the community.

“It’s so important because not only being part of the LGBTQ plus community - but being a business owner, it really is great to be able to have the community as a whole - show up and say, this is great -look at all the wonderful, different people. The diversity that’s there and gets the support amongst the community. And just being in a great mood and being happy and being able to celebrate together,” said Morris-Frazier.
