Eleiko Launces patent pending Öppen Deadlift Bar Making Deadlifts More Accessible

SOURCE: Eleiko

Eleiko launches a new bar, the Öppen Deadlift Bar, a patent pending bar designed specifically to support deadlifting in an approachable user-friendly manner. The open design, along with a unique built in stand and loading system opens the possibility for more people to experience the benefits of free weight training through deadlifting.

The name Öppen Deadlift Bar, inspired by the Swedish word Öppna which best translates to "open" in English, delivers optimal performance through its product design and unique functionality. This bar’s design solves many challenges common to trap bars on the market today, which are often difficult to load, cumbersome to use and challenging to store.

“When designing the Öppen Deadlift Bar we considered all the ways we could eliminate barriers and create a great experience for the lifter and the operator,” said Roy Simonson, Designer for Eleiko. “From the integrated loading jack to the longer width that works on lifting platforms and the approachable open design, we are confident facility owners, trainers and users will all appreciate this new Eleiko bar.”

Manufactured in Sweden with our signature attention to quality and durability, the Öppen Bar is built to last. The bar rests on durable rubber feet which protect the platform from damage and raise the sleeves above the platform for unencumbered loading and unloading of bumpers and plates. Once loaded users simply tip the bar into a horizontal position to lift, the curved rubber feet ensure the bar shifts between the two positions with ease and it is counterbalanced so it remains in the lifting position. The Öppen Deadlift Bar is also an ideal option for beginners as it less technique intensive while lifting when compared to deadlifting with a barbell.

“We are passionate about strength training and our mission is to make training more accessible, said Blomberg,” CEO Eleiko Group. “With the Öppen Deadlift Bar we give lifters, those who are experienced as well as those new to training, a great way to incorporate deadlifts, an exercise important for performance, into their training.”

We use our proprietary Eleiko barbell steel and knurling on the handles and grip markings to ensure users have a centred, even and firm grip. The slim design and integrated rubber feet provide stable upright storage minimising space requirements so facilities can optimise training spaces. The chromed sleeves are a standard 50mm diameter, so they are compatible with all discs, plates and bumpers Eleiko offers. The width of the bar is specifically designed for use with Eleiko platforms, the longer design ensures the discs are aligned with the platform drop zone.
