Robbins Sports Surfaces Helps Bring Toronto Tempo’s Inaugural Court to Life

The newest franchise in the WNBA recently began its inaugural season and Robbins Sports Surfaces, LLC, played a key role in bringing the Toronto Tempo’s new home court to life at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The project adds another high-profile installation to Robbins’ growing portfolio of professional basketball courts across North America and internationally. Robbins is the league’s primary supplier of portable courts for the NBA and supplies several WNBA courts including the Golden State Valkyries, Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury. The company continues to work with teams and venues seeking high-performance playing surfaces built for elite competition.

“Every professional court has to balance performance, durability and visual identity,” said John Ficks, National Sales Manager for Robbins Sports Surfaces. “The Toronto Tempo wanted a floor that reflected the energy of the franchise while delivering the consistent playability athletes expect at the highest level of the game. We’re proud to have been part of bringing that vision to life.”

The Tempo selected the Robbin’s All-Star Plus portable court system to play on at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The All-Star Plus is Robbins’ premier portable basketball flooring solution and is trusted by top professional and collegiate programs worldwide. It builds on Robbins’ long-standing focus on athlete performance and safety, an area the company continues to emphasize through ongoing research into shock absorption, resiliency and player impact. Robbins officials have increasingly highlighted the “science beneath the floor” as teams and venues place greater focus on athlete wellness and recovery.

The Tempo unveiled the court ahead of the franchise’s inaugural season and home opener recently.
