Just weeks from the start of March Madness, two more schools have found themselves smack in the middle of the FBI’s ongoing investigation into corruption at the highest levels of NCAA men’s basketball.
According to Sports Illustrated, federal prosecutors have filed a superseding indictment which alleges that agent Christian Dawkins paid bribes to unnamed assistant coaches at Creighton and TCU. The filing says that no new charges have been filed, suggesting that the coaches are unlikely to be charged with any crimes.
Sports Illustrated reports that the assistant coaches being implicated are likely Preston Murphy of Creighton and TCU’s Corey Barker.

The new indictment comes in the wake of guilty pleas by former USC assistant coach Tony Bland, former Arizona assistant coach Emmanuel "Book" Richardson and former Oklahoma State assistant coach Lamont Evans. Dawkins could face additional sentences for his part in those trials. He is also currently scheduled to stand trial for similar charges related to alleged payments of assistant coaches employed by USC, Oklahoma State and Arizona along with former Adidas consultant Merl Code.
Dawkins was already sentenced to six months in jail earlier this week after he was found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy charges for facilitating payments to the families of recruits.
