Welcome to Fundraising Friday: AB Today's weekly digest of recent developments in development.

A new athletics complex at Texas Women's University will bear the name of noted alumna and philanthropist Dawn Chaney, a three-sport athlete at the Denton-based university in the 1960, following her transformational $10 million gift to the project. The facility is expected to cost $30 million and break ground in 2027. According to Wednesday's announcement, the university is planning a 30,000- to 35,000-square-foot athletics complex purpose-built to maximize efficiency, enhance functionality and address the operational needs of a rapidly growing athletics program. Planned features include: an auxiliary practice gym, locker rooms for five teams, an expanded weight room accommodating up to 40 athletes simultaneously, a sports medicine clinic staffed by certified athletic trainers, a student-athlete lounge and study hall, indoor batting cages, dedicated homes for wrestling and stunt, and coaches’ offices and team meeting spaces.

Former University of Maryland lacrosse players Scott and Craig Hochstadt have made a $1 million commitment to Maryland Athletics in support of the new facilities project for the men's lacrosse program at Gossett Hall. Their gift, made in honor of their late father and Maryland alum, Ira, will help fund the renovated locker room, new offices and meeting areas for the coaching staff, and a dedicated space to celebrate the program's past, according to athletic department's Wednesday announcement

Longtime supporters Ray and Deborah Dillon have given $1 million to Mississippi State Athletics. Per Thursday's announcement, the Dillons' generosity serves as the most recent key contribution to help elevate MSU in the current landscape of college athletics.
