When Nebraska's athletic department let head football coach Bo Pelini go on Sunday, his players were — to say the least — upset.
So on Tuesday, Pelini met with his players one last time at Lincoln North Star High School to say goodbye.
Unfortunately, the staff member who allowed Pelini and his team into the school's gym didn't follow the district's protocol for reserving rooms and has been asked to pay $262.50, or the costs associated with keeping the room open.
The district's spokeswoman, Mary Kay Roth, has stated that the school's principal didn't know the team was going to be in the building.
Fortunately for the high school staffer, the Internet has responded to this news with a fundraising campaign to pay the rental fine. So far it has raised more than $500, more than enough to cover the fine.
