A charter bus carrying a youth football team crashed early Monday in central Arkansas, killing one child and injuring at least 45 other people.
According to the Associated Press, the bus was traveling about 25 miles north of Little Rock, en route from Texas to Memphis, Tenn. The bus overturned and most of the injured children were taken to hospitals in Little Rock and Benton.

The football team from Orange Mound Youth Association in Tennessee was returning from a weekend tournament in Dallas. The children on board were elementary-school age.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock said it had received 24 patients, all of whom were in stable condition. No other information was available on their injuries.
