An outbreak of the COVID-19 Delta variant earlier this summer forced an Oklahoma gymnastics gym to close its doors.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 47 people were infected with the virus in just two weeks, including gymnasts, staff members and household contacts.
A report from federal health officials showed that 40 of the infected people were unvaccinated, four were fully vaccinated, and three had completed one shot. Those infected ranged from 5 to 58 years old, with a median age of 14.

Two of the unvaccinated adults required hospitalization and one was admitted to intensive care. Â
The outbreak occurred between April 15 and May 3.
The attack rate among infected gymnasts and staff members was 20 percent and 53 percent among their household contacts.
