Dr. Janie Cournoyer is an athletic therapist with over 15 years of experience. She has worked primarily with youth and high school tackle football. She completed her doctoral and post-doctoral research at the University of Ottawa in the Neurotrauma Impact Science Laboratory studying the association between head impact severity and signs and symptoms of sports-related concussion. She also led a project describing the brain trauma profile in youth American football to better inform helmet manufacturers and helmet testing standards. She is now interested in the relationships between concussions and musculoskeletal injuries as well as overall injury prevention in sports.
