After the Denver Nuggets sealed the team's first NBA title with a win against the Miami Heat at Ball Arena Monday night, Nuggets fans took to the streets in downtown Denver for what would prove a tragic celebration.

According to the Denver Fox affiliate, Denver police are now investigating multiple shootings that sent 10 people to the hospital.

The shootings took place around midnight near the 2000 block of Market Street, where nine victims were found. Police identified a suspect who had also sustained a gunshot wound.

Three of the victims remain in critical condition at a local hospital, and the other victims appear to have non-life-threatening injuries, according to DPD.

Images and video of the downtown area showed thousands of fans celebrating the Nuggets' win.

“It did occur in the area where we had largest gathering of folks celebrating during the night,” said police spokesperson Doug Schepman.
