The Wichita (Kan.) Police Department confirmed Tuesday that a man accused of confronting and shoving a 17-year-old female youth basketball referee at a game Saturday is a Wichita police captain, according to USA Today.

A video shared on Twitter by Wichita's KSN News shows footage of the altercation, and the man can be heard telling the referee, “Get out of my way,” before ushering his player off the court.

Facebook user Craig Carlson originally posted the video with the caption, “This happened today in Augusta KS… this guy is a Wichita P.D. officer, who assaulted a 17-year-old basketball official during a 5/6th grade game. This is exactly why there is a shortage of officials in sports. This is unacceptable and should be seen and shared.”

Wichita P.D. spokesperson Officer Charley Davidson told the Wichita Eagle that the police captain involved has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal review.

Police from Augusta, Kan., where the alleged incident took place, will also stage an investigation.
