A former high school strength and conditioning coach in Tennessee has been charged with administering anabolic steroids to a student-athlete.
Roger Williams, 52, was a former contract coach with the Clarksville Montgomery County Schools. Authorities allege Williams was providing and injecting a student with an anabolic steroid as part of his strength and conditioning training.

Roger Williams, 52, was a former contract coach with the Clarksville Montgomery County Schools. Authorities allege Williams was providing and injecting a student with an anabolic steroid as part of his strength and conditioning training.
The case against Williams was presented to a Montgomery County Grand Jury, which subsequently issued a sealed indictment for his arrest.
Williams is currently being held in the Montgomery County jail on $5,000 bond.
The Sherriff’s Office was tipped off to Williams’ actions back in December of 2019. At the time, Williams was a contract coach associated with Rossview High School’s basketball program.
"Mr. Williams was not an employee of CMCSS," Anthony Johnson, CMCSS Chief Communications Officer, told the Leaf Chronicle. "He was contracted in August 2019 for professional services to plan, coordinate, implement and oversee a strength and conditioning program for the Rossview High boys’ basketball team. That contract was terminated December 20, 2019."
The investigation began last December and ended when the case was brought to the grand jury this month.
