In Seattle, the University of Washington will break ground on its new high-performance basketball center in June.
The $60 million project is fully donor funded, with over $1 million coming from Husky basketball legends and alumni.
The training facility is expected to be completed in August 2025.
The equity-centric focus of the project is emphasized through the creation of two 9,800 square-foot practice courts.
The new home for Husky basketball will include an incredible skywalk viewing area above the courts for recruits, fans and families to watch practices, and a welcoming foyer that will highlight legendary moments and players from the programs' history.

- Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and the Tiger Athletic Foundation are going ahead with plans to build a new, best-in-class arena for sports and entertainment. In order for that to happen, developers have to be assured that they won't be competing with the River Center to book acts, so TAF has asked the Metro Council to enter into an agreement that would restrict the kind of events held there, including any concerts or shows that exceed 3,500 attendees.
- New York City Department of Parks & Recreation broke ground last month on the $92 million Mary Cali Dalton Recreation Center in Tompkinsville, Staten Island. The new 45,000-square-foot center will offer a variety of recreational amenities, including sports courts, four electric vehicle charging stations, an indoor-outdoor running track, and fitness and cardio rooms. The Feb. 23 ceremony was the first groundbreaking for a rec center on Staten Island in more than 14 years.
