The University of Southern California has officially begun work on Rawlinson Stadium, the new home of Trojan women’s soccer and lacrosse.
The facility will have 2,200 fixed seats with a total capacity of 2,500 for game days, as well as spectator viewing decks and social spaces.
For the players, the stadium will have separate locker rooms for the soccer and lacrosse teams, as well as a team meeting area, sports medicine space, nutrition fueling bar, and a locker room and meeting space for coaches.
Rawlinson Stadium will also feature field lights and a natural grass playing surface.
The new stadium will be located at the site of Soni McAlister Field — the previous venue for women’s soccer and lacrosse. The stadium will feature new facilities for each team and double the seating for fans.
The stadium will also be the first at USC dedicated solely to women’s sports.
The 28,000-square-foot gymnasium will seat 2,813, and with the bleachers retracted will have three regulation-size basketball courts, as well a two-lane, 60-meter track.
It also features multiple scoreboards, including what is believed to be the largest video board in any high school in Illinois.
