Argyle (Texas) ISD will break ground on its new football stadium and Indoor Activity Center in Canyon Falls this week.
The groundbreaking event will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the grassy area on the east side of the Argyle High School Fieldhouse, 6601 Canyon Falls Drive.
Both projects were part of the voter-approved bond propositions in 2022: $27 million for the stadium and $20 million for the IAC. The stadium — which will seat 7,500 people — will be located behind the fieldhouse and utilize the turf field that is currently in place, according to a district news release. The IAC will be located on the east side of the fieldhouse.
Both projects will be constructed at the same time and are expected to open in fall 2025. When Argyle ISD transitions to two high schools, both will utilize the stadium, according to the district. [The Cross Timbers Gazette]
Construction is officially underway on a new home for Goshen High School’s baseball and softball teams.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday afternoon for the new complex, which will be behind Prairie View Elementary School.
According to our reporting partners at The Goshen News, the facility will have one baseball field and one softball field. It will also have hitting and pitching facilities, player lockers, and concession stands.
There will also be turf and lights, the latter of which Goshen High School head baseball coach JJ DuBois is looking most forward to. [WNDU]
Durango Parks and Recreation announced this week that the contractor working on the new six-court pickleball facility in Schneider Park will tentatively begin to add the finishing touches on June 10 before the courts open to the public.
“The final epoxy and painted line work can be applied only in dry conditions when the nighttime low temps are forecasted to be a minimum of 45 degrees for 72 hours,” said Rachel Hart, open space and trails design manager for Durango Parks and Recreation.
When construction on the pickleball courts began last summer as part of the Schneider Park improvement project, the courts were projected to be finished sometime in late spring or early summer this year. [Durango Herald]
