A $1.2 billion plan to renovate Cincinnati's Paycor Stadium proposed Tuesday would transform not just the stadium but the riverfront around it.
Hamilton County's administration was expected to release the proposed plan Tuesday during the staff meeting for the three county commissioners, giving taxpayers the first glimpse of what major improvements the Bengals' home stadium might need to keep it competitive.
The plan, created by Cincinnati-based architect MSA Sport, includes moving Mehring Way closer to the river to create more greenspace, creating more gathering areas outside the stadium and upgrading the Bengals' indoor and outdoor practice facilities just west of the stadium. [Cincinnati.com]
For his latest video message to the University of North Dakota campus, President Andy Armacost stands on the newest field of play for UND Athletics, set for a Grand Opening on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Armacost is joined by Jordan Stevens, UND Women’s Softball head coach, to invite the UND community to the first-ever game played at Albrecht Field, located just north of the Fritz Pollard Jr. Athletic Center.
At 7 p.m. Saturday, the first pitch will be thrown in an exhibition matchup between UND and Northwest Missouri State. The Grand Opening celebrates a project two years in the making, since Armacost first met lead donors Dave and Alexa Albrecht.

Dartmouth Athletics has announced the addition of multiple technological and visual improvements in Leede Arena. The improvements include a center hung halo board, two end wall video boards and a new Daktronics scoreboard, equipped with in-game statistics sideboards. In addition, the scorer's tables will be outfitted with eight LED boards.
The technological and visual improvements to Leede Arena are thanks to the Stephen Lewinstein Family '63, P'98 whose donation to Dartmouth Athletics allowed for these additions. Leede is home to the Big Green volleyball, and men's and women's basketball programs.
"Beyond elevating the quality of the fan, coach and student experience, the arena's modernization will allow the facility to better support College-wide events such as the panel discussion with the Surgeons General about the future of mental health and wellness that we hosted in Leede during the last academic year," said Mike Harrity, the Haldeman Family Director of Athletics and Recreation. "On gameday, every person in attendance will benefit from the planned enhancements to Leede Arena. We remain incredibly grateful to Diana and Steve Lewinstein '63, P'98 for their generous gift that has made this possible. We look forward to bringing more improvements to our facilities that advance multiple facets of the College's mission in the future." [Dartmouth Sports]
