HKS Reveals New Renderings of Commanders Stadium 

Architecture studio HKS and NFL team the Washington Commanders have revealed images of a "monumental" stadium wrapped in a colonnade, set to be built in Washington DC.

With a capacity of more than 70,000, the Washington Commanders Stadium at the RFK Campus was designed by HKS to be monumental, both in its sheer size and impact on the Washington DC skyline.

It will be wrapped in a white colonnade that recalls the city's civic monuments including the Lincoln Memorial.

San Antonio Leaders Discuss $1B Minor League Ballpark 

City leaders are concluding discussions on the progress of the Minor League Baseball stadium project and the surrounding entertainment district.

Phase 1 has already begun in the San Pedro Creek area, resulting in the relocation of residents from one of the Soap Factory apartment buildings.

The project aims to overhaul the area, with today's discussions focusing on the next phases, funding, and planning coordination necessary before stadium construction begins.

Additionally, the city is considering the future of Nelson Wolff Stadium on the Far West Side, with plans to hire a consultant to explore redevelopment opportunities.

Chicago's First 24/7 Pickleball Facility Open for Business 

A new pickleball facility in Old Irving Park allows players access to its courts 24 hours a day, and fans of the sport are already playing matches well into the early morning. 

SPF — which stands for Social, Play and Fun — opened its “fully autonomous pickleball facility” Thursday at 3800 N. Milwaukee Ave., just steps away from the Grayland Metra station. 

The company has other facilities in Lincoln Park and Hyde Park, but the new Old Irving Park outpost is the first to allow members access to the building’s six courts via an automated check-in system at any time of day, SPF co-founder Rich Green said.
