University of Tennessee Unveils $100M Baseball Stadium Upgrade
Opening weekend is here for University of Tennessee Baseball and after several years of construction so is a brand-new look for Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
It’s a new season and a new era, not only for the Vols with first-year head coach Josh Elander, but fans will also see changes at the ballpark. The multiyear renovation project has boosted the capacity to over 8,000, nearly double the maximum of 4,300 prior to the start of construction in 2023.
“Feels like what a true SEC ballpark should feel like. So excited for our student athletes to get to play here on Friday and really excited for our fans to walk in and see all the progress that we’ve made,” said Tennessee Deputy Athletics Director Alicia Longworth.
