Tulane Cuts Ribbon on New Goldring Tennis Center
The Tulane Goldring Tennis Center, the long-awaited new home for Green Wave Tennis, as well as a venue that will be available to the New Orleans tennis community and pickleball enthusiasts, will host its opening match on Friday, February 20 at 1 p.m. as the Green Wave women's tennis team takes on UTSA. This match will be followed by a noon date with South Florida on Sunday, February 22. The Tulane men's tennis team will play its first match in the state-of-the-art venue on Thursday, March 5 at 1 p.m. against Florida Atlantic.
"Tulane offers a truly holistic educational experience that includes fielding the best teams both in the classroom and on the court," Tulane President Michael A. Fitts said. "The Goldring Tennis Center is another example of the ongoing support and countless opportunities Bill Goldring has provided Tulane students. This includes, among many others major components of Tulane, the buildings that house the A. B. Freeman School of Business, The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine, and now this truly spectacular Tennis Center."
Located at 200 Broadway, on Tulane's University Square campus, the facility includes six NCAA regulation tennis courts and four pickleball courts.
Coralville Restarts Contractor Process for $54M Rec Center
Coralville will look to restart its selection process for a contractor to manage construction of a new recreation center after the City Council last month voted down city staff’s recommended contractor, citing concerns about the selection process.
City staff members do not anticipate the restart to cause any delays in the estimated $54 million rec center project that includes three gymnasiums, an elevated track, a spa and three pools.
Assuming no other delays, the plan is to break ground later this summer and open the facility in fall 2028. The decision to restart the contractor selection process was made at a council meeting earlier this week.

The facility also includes a turfed training area and new cardio and strength-building equipment, including treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, stair climbers, and weight-training machines.
